https://gitlab.com/masterbronetwork/reduce-ai-overreliance/-/raw/main/ReduceAIOverreliance.txtI made this list after noticing a considerable decrease in my critical thinking skills from becoming too reliant on AI for my answers and solving my problems.
It can be a genuinely good tool if used responsibly, but if you start noticing your mental skills suffering from it, then that's when you should start trying to solve problems and learn without it.
For me, using uBlock's strict blocking feature as a way to discourage using ChatGPT or such is a big help for me, because it forces me to think twice before proceeding.
I don't see AI going away any time soon, so I wouldn't cease using it completely, but I would definitely recommend reducing how much you use it if you lean on it heavily for answers to your issues.
I find it useful for things like searching obscure API docs, but lately, I have been leaning on it more than I should be, and it has led to my own mental skills suffering as a result, so I made this list to try and disincentivize myself from using it.
I don't use many AI websites, but there are a few well-known ones here such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot etc.
There are several studies / articles that talk about how relying too much on AI and less on your own brain can lead to a decrease in your own cognitive skills, I've linked a few at the bottom for you to read in your own spare time.
As AI develops and grows, it is very likely that I'll end up relying too much on some new AI development, in which case, I will update this filter list, if you want to suggest any sites to block, please feel free to open a PR / issue.
